Excerpt from article referencing new music and tour: That 2018 album and subsequent tour will see Studdard reinterpreting the music of Luther Vandross. Right now, the recording is dubbed Ruben Studdard Sings Luther Vandroos, and it will be a loving tribute to a musician who greatly influenced Studdard’s life and career.
It’s a really well done project by a producer, John Jackson, who has done some really great work in the past with me, so I’m just looking forward to the fans getting the opportunity to hear this music. READ MORE

Thanks for posting it here. Posted on facebook today. We will probably create a board, closer to tour time.
I think this is going to be a great tour. Wishing him the best.

Those snippets are great! So far, John Jackson has been one of my favorite producers for Ruben. Can't wait to hear the whole album.

So, this happened today? I saw the 9th at the Amazon page but I thought that was an error since everything else I've seen said the 16th. I love what I've heard so far. I'm happy for Ruben. Luther had so many great songs and I love what he selected but I sure do wish that 'Any Love' had been included but I'll survive. I'll just add Luther to the playlist with Ruben's songs. I haven't had time to look around but in case it hasn't been posted, he's also going to be on The Wendy Williams Show Tuesday, March 13. RUBEN ON THE WENDY WILLIAMS SHOW

Love the album and his Wendy performance. I didn't know anything about the engagement rumors.

Great Article/Review: HUB EXCLUSIVE: Ruben Studdard Releases Exceptional Luther Vandross Tribute Album, Preps For Sac Show From the Article: At the risk of facing the threat of bodily harm from Vandross’ faithful fans — of which this writer is one — I may prefer Studdard’s version of “A House Is Not A Home” to Vandross’ career-defining masterpiece.
Me: I love both versions of "House..." but I agree with him about the time period making a difference. Luther fans know all the phrasing of that song so I love that he still managed to stay true to Luther's version. From the Article: One of Luther’s background singers, Kevin Owens, is going to show us some of the moves and all of the stuff they did on stage with Luther. People are going to enjoy themselves.” Me: Cool. From the Article: “We’re actually going to do a couple of duets,” Studdard teases. “I can’t say who I’ll be singing them with…but it’s going to be good.”
Me: Hmmm... Ledisi? Lalah? Keke? (All wishful thinking)
